This cross curricular project will incorporate work in English, art, maths, D.T. music, geography, P.S.H.C.E and history (especially in the local area).

At the end of the term we will be holding an exhibition afternoon to share our learning with you.

Class Letters:

PE

Our regular PE days continue to be Tuesday & Wednesday. PE kits should include: water bottle, white t shirt with school logo, blue or black shorts, sweatshirt, tracksuit bottoms & trainers; please ensure these are all named.

Music

Music is held every Wednesday. Children are invited to attend an extra practice with Mrs Hardcastle in the hall at 8.30am.

Homework

Children have been given a homework book which, together with their blue reading book & yellow reading record, should be brought to school every day & taken home every afternoon.

Reading

All children are expected to read for 10 mins each night (either from their school reading book or a book they are enjoying at home) and record this in their blue reading record books.  Since we are working on reading for meaning & developing the children’s skills in using inference & deduction, it would be very valuable if you could ask them questions to check they understand what they have read.

Spellings

Please check you have received a pack to support home learning of spellings.

Maths

Children will have daily maths homework. This may be maths facts/target work, times tables, games or questions which should take approximately 10-15 mins. If you are able to support your child by checking this homework with them & helping to work through any errors, this would be really useful. The children will check & mark the homework themselves the next day with the rest of the class.

Tuck shop: Thursday

Tuck shop is open at morning break. 40p will buy biscuit & juice. You may bring fruit any day to eat at break.

Every Day

Please bring your reading and Home/School book. It would really help if all children had a water bottle in school.

Start and End of the Day

The hall door will be opened at 8.45am. The hall door will be locked at 8.55am, if you arrive after this time, please enter through the main school entrance. Key Stage 2 finish at 3:30pm.
