Religious Education (RE) is an expression of our schools Christian Vision, is non-confessional and is considered an academic subject. Pupils learn about Christianity and other world faiths during their RE lessons. We aim for pupils to flourish though the provision of high quality RE reflecting the Church of England Statement of Entitlement (.pdf)

RE allows pupils safe space to critically reflect on their own religious, spiritual and philosophical convictions. It enables pupils to develop the knowledge and understanding of other major world religions.

During the Spring Term 2020 St Cuthbert’s children are learning about Hinduism. Year 3, 4 and 5 will be visiting a Mandir and the whole school will take part in dance workshop linked to the festival of Holi.

Fountains Earth Children are learning about Islam. They will be visiting a Mosque on March 5th.

Both of these visits allow children to understand and learn a little more about world faiths and different communities living in Yorkshire.

You can find a copy of the RE Policy 2020 (.pdf) in the documents section of this site.
