Year 6 Leavers Service - St Cuthbert's

Dear Year Six Parents,

Further to our previous communications about the end of term events and in particular, the arrangements for the end of term 'events'. I would like to update you with the final arrangements.

I want to reiterate that the staff team at St Cuthbert's have been trying to do as much as we can to make sure that our Year 6 children's last weeks at St Cuthbert's is as special as possible.  Taking into consideration the rising cases of Covid in our local area and in some of our local schools, as with the sports day,  our leavers service will be held virtually. This decision has been made to ensure that children, staff and families are protected as much as we possibly can whilst we are in the middle of a global pandemic.

I am sure that we all know somebody, or have had family members and friends sadly affected by Covid in some way over the past 18 months. Whilst different schools will take different approaches to this situation, we have taken the safety of our children, staff and parents as our main priority.   Thank you for understanding and supporting the school staff with this.

Today your child will be bringing home an invitation to the Year Six leaver's service which will be conducted via Zoom. The leaver's service will start at 2pm on Monday 19th July and so please check your inbox on the morning of the 19th for your link and password.

We will be putting on special sessions that take into account the children missing external sessions normally conducted at Crucial Crew (activities that involves educating children around the potential hazards of electricity, fire, online safety and social pressures).

We know that the children are very much looking forward to their Adventure Day this Friday and are looking forward to hearing all about this! Please check out the next newsletter for lots of photos from our brilliant sports day which was lots of fun as well.

The invitation for the Leaver's Service will contain a photo of the children in their leaver's hoodies which was kindly organised by Mrs De Souza. They look absolutely fantastic! I am conscious that not all children are in school today and so I will take another photo for them as addition to this when everyone is in.

Take care, stay safe.
