Her last day at Fountains Earth will therefore be Friday 28th February and we invite parents to celebrate with us during assembly on this day.

  • Friday 4 October 2019 Fountains Earth School Newsletter 4th October 2019 Recently staff have been working on developing the curriculum at both Fountains Earth and St Cuthbert’s. Part of the vision for our curriculum is to ensure that children experience and learn about their local heritage, the outstanding natural beauty that is all around us and the rich history of Nidderdale. We also want to ensure that we provide experiences outside of Nidderdale to broaden children’s horizons with a range of opportunities.

  • Friday 5 June 2020 St Cuthbert's Staffing for September 2020 Whilst we are living very much ‘in the moment’ with the current situation and awaiting further announcements, I wanted to inform parents of the teaching staff arrangements for September 2020. It will be here soon enough and we have been very busy in the background as you will see!
  • Friday 20 March 2020 St Cuthbert's School Newsletter 20th March 2020 Thank you so much for your support and patience during this difficult time. • Friday 6 March 2020 St Cuthbert's School Newsletter 6th March 2020 Value for life This half term our value for life is Courage. The children are taking inspiration from courageous role models from past and present. They are learning about the feeling of being courageous in different situations including having the courage to stand up for what is right and to share views and opinions. We are also learning to have the courage to perform and the Royal Hall concert will be the perfect opportunity for that.
  • Friday 14 February 2020 St Cuthbert's School Newsletter 14th February 2020 Today is Mrs Hardcastle’s last ‘official’ day at St Cuthbert’s although she will still spend some time volunteering with us and will continue as a Governor (thank goodness!). Families, children and staff all have hugely mixed feelings about this– mainly because of the huge amount she does for all of us and the difference she makes every day. We will miss her experience, skills and expertise very much but most of all we will miss the person she is. Relentlessly positive, solution focused, a ‘mucker inner’, thoughtful, generous and most importantly never, ever gives up on any of our children no matter what. Thank you all for your donations to her gift which was presented to her during sharing assembly today.
  • Friday 31 January 2020 St Cuthbert's School Newsletter 31st January 2020 This year the Harrogate & Ripon Rural Schools’ Charity Concert will be supporting Compass Buzz Children’s Mental Health and Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre, Harrogate Hospital. As this year’s residential clashes with the Royal Hall Concert (Friday 20th March as per diary dates overleaf), Years 3 and 4 will be singing at the concert. There will be a letter sent home shortly with the details surrounding the event but we thought that parents might like to know so that they can keep the date free.
  • Friday 17 January 2020 St Cuthbert's School Newsletter 17th January 2020 Welcome back to a new term, a new year and a new decade. We have had an exciting start to school with some of the KS2 children attending the Young Voices event at Sheffield Arena last Friday, where pupils from across our federation got to sing (and dance!) with almost 3,000 other children from across the country.
  • Friday 20 December 2019 St Cuthbert's School Newsletter 20th December 2019 Thank you to everyone who came along to support the children in their Nativity performance last week. The children all did an amazing job, as did the staff who worked hard in the weeks leading up to it to make it such a success!
  • Friday 6 December 2019 St Cuthbert's School Newsletter 6th December 2019 We hope that you can join us for the KS1 Nativity performance on Thursday 12th December at 2pm in church. Please feel free to bring along friends and family—no tickets are required.

As a result both our schools will now take part in the District Final at the Hydro on Tuesday 12th November.

Zoom meetings are designed as an opportunity for class members to see each other as well as their teacher. The session times have been set so that families where children are sharing a device do not overlap with each other (I hope). The children will need pencil and paper with them for the sessions.
