Governor Profiles
When a vacancy for a Parent Governor occurs, parents may stand for election. There are 2 Parent Governors serving on our Governing Body and these have been elected for a four year period by formal ballot (There are 5 parents governors in total but the title and roles of the other 3 are different ). We do keep an up-to-date register of parents eligible to vote in this ballot, including the divorced or separated parent with whom the child is not living.
If there were to be any parental complaints these should initially be put to the Headteacher who may be able to resolve the matter simply. However, if no satisfaction is obtained there is a formal complaints procedure. Parents should then contact the Clerk to the Governors, Mrs A Lumley at St. Cuthbert's Primary School, Pateley Bridge.

Lynette Brammah
Prior to becoming a governor at Fountains Earth and St Cuthbert?s in September 2016 I have been a governor in several schools. My governor role is wide and varied requiring me to report on all aspects of school from academic standards to financial accountability. I enjoy the strategic element of governance?exploring possibilities, looking into the future and planning for continual improvement. I have lived and worked in Yorkshire all my life and have fond memories of visiting Pateley Bridge as a child, going to Bewerley Park as a Newly Qualified Teacher with my Year 6 class and more recently passing through on various walks. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would become the Headteacher of the schools that serve this wonderful community.

Lucy Greenwood
I held the position of Chair of Governors at St Cuthbert?s for four years prior to the federation of our two schools and I find involvement in governance hugely rewarding. I have served as a parent governor since my daughter Eve started Reception at St Cuthbert?s in 2010 and I feel privileged that I am able to continue to serve on the Federated Governing Body. Eve has now moved on to St Aidan?s in Harrogate whilst Seb and Jemima are now both at St Cuthbert?s. I am kept busy at home, but I also work as an Assistant Headteacher in a secondary school and during my career I have taught in four very different schools. This hopefully means I have a breadth of educational experience and I try to apply this to my role in governance for the benefit of all our children.

Jen Blunstone
I have lived in Nidderdale all my life. I attended St Cuthbert?s myself as a youngster, when my Year 5/6 classroom was where the after school club now resides. My husband and I have three children who have grown up in the dale, attending Nidderdale High before moving on to further education in Harrogate schools. I have worked in the Learning Support Centre at Nidderdale High for nearly ten years now, and I also teach English. I was excited to become the SENCo at St Cuthbert?s and Fountains Earth in September 2017. It has been fun to work with younger students and to meet the other staff and governors who have been so incredibly welcoming. I look forward to continuing the learning curve and to doing what I can to support the schools.

I am the youngest of six children. I was born in Bangor where my father served at RAF Valley and I was baptized in the nose cone of a Spitfire at Biggin Hill. Once he retired I was raised in Northallerton. I worked as a manager for Calverts Carpets for 18 years and have also been a children?s entertainer. My skill as a ventriloquist is useful when Gary the Gorilla makes an appearance in Collective Worship! I trained to be a priest in Durham between 2007 and 2009, served my 4 year curacy at Knaresborough, and then took up post as the Vicar of Upper Nidderdale in the summer of 2013. I have a wife and two sons, one of whom attends Nidderdale High School. We like going out as a family and visiting local places of interest. I have many of the skills required of a school governor and am now developing the experience where the training will be put to good use.

Joanne MetcalfeStaff Governor
Joanne Metcalfe
I began my role as staff governor in Sept 2019. I have been employed as Class 2 teacher at Fountains Earth, with responsibility for teaching children from Year 3 to Year 6, for over five years now. I have seen many changes in that time but the most significant has been the federation with St Cuthbert?s school.
Teaching is my second career, as I was previously a registered nurse working at a variety of hospitals in London. After having my child and moving to Harrogate, I decided to switch careers and took on my degree in Education at Ripon and York St John. After qualifying, I worked in central Leeds teaching different age groups before taking up a variety of senior management roles within the school.
My husband and I moved to Nidderdale in 2011 and I began my part-time career to allow me time with my family. I thoroughly enjoy working in the very unique atmosphere of such a small rural school and feel honoured to serve the community in my role as governor.

Sam GoodallParent Governor
Sam Goodall
This is my first post as a parent Governor and I am excited to have just begun my first term. I am originally from Nidderdale, having been brought up in both Pateley Bridge and also up-dale in Middlesmoor. I attended St Cuthberts over 35 years ago where both my boys also now attend (in years 5 and 1 currently). I have played both football and cricket for Pateley (from junior level through to senior) and now coach the Pateley JFC U10s; as well as being part of the committee. My professional career spans equally across two disciplines; Estate management (formally being Head of Space Planning for Leeds Becket University) and waste management (currently Director of a multi-million pound waste recycling company, Forge Recycling Ltd). I would like to hope that my skills can be used to help across the federated schools, as well as working to improve environmental and sustainable credentials.

I am delighted to join the Governing Board as a newly appointed Co-opted Governor, I have previously been a parent governor and have contributed to work in our schools towards SIAMS and the religious aspect of the schools in our federation. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to serve the federation in this way. I have a background in international law and have worked in academia, local authority and the charity sector. Whilst the
my own children have been small, I have been kept busy working with children and students in our church, and I am enjoying becoming involved in the community here now too. I hope this breadth of experience will benefit the role of governor.
