Welcome back to a new half term in Ash Class! This half-term our focus is 'Whilst We Sleep'.
We will be exploring everything from sleep, to space, to animals who venture outside in the night time. The Whilst We Sleep topic will allow us to investigate what it takes for us to get a good night's sleep; we will be thinking about our own bedtime routine, and why sleep is a big part of a healthy lifestyle!
Then we will move on to exploring outer space! We will read 'Man on the Moon: A Day in the Life of Bob' to discover what the life of an astronaut is like- we will even have our own space ship land in the classroom for us to play and explore in!
Early Years Reading
Please read to, or with, your child daily- looking at the illustrations and asking questions. Reading books are sent home from school in line with the phonics sounds the children are learning in class.
PE is on a Tuesday morning. Please ensure your child has a PE kit which is clearly named (white t-shirt, shorts/joggers/tracksuit bottoms, a jumper and trainers). As PE is now outside only it is advised your child has longer bottoms such as joggers or tracksuit bottoms, as well as a sweatshirt to keep warm as the weather turns colder. PE kits are to be brought into school on a Monday and will be sent home on a Friday.
Forest School is every Thursday morning. Please ensure your child has waterproof clothing and wellies. Forest School clothes can be brought in on the day and will be returned home the same day.
