Early Years and Key Stage 1

Welcome back and Happy New Year.

This half term we are discussing the big question 'What does it mean to be great?'

We are learning all about the Great Fire of London in History, the life and work of Henry Moore in Art, the great season of Winter in Science,  and discussing the question 'Who is a Christian and what do they believe?' in RE.

Your teachers are Miss Aldridge and Mrs Issitt.

Home Tasks

It is expected that children read or share a book with an adult at home for 10 -15 minutes every evening whenever possible. This could be your child reading their school ‘scheme’ book to you, them reading something else of their choice, you sharing a bed time story together, or any other reading you can think of, or that your child wishes to do. Please record any reading you have done in your child’s reading record. We try to change books every Monday, Wednesday and Friday but we do need your signature to say the book is completed.

PE in Spring Term

Our PE this half term is football skills with Mr Yeoman and dance and gymnastics with Miss Aldridge or Mrs Issitt. So your child will need both an indoor and outdoor PE kit, complete with waterproof trainers, at school all week as lessons can be weather dependant and often switched around! Thank you.

Please ensure your child adheres to our  Uniform Policy (.pdf) available in the Documents section of this site. Please ensure that all clothing should be clearly named. Thank you!
