Early Years and Key Stage 1

Grow Your OwnYour teachers are Miss Aldridge and Mrs Issitt.

Welcome back, or, for Abigail and Benjamin, welcome to Class One! I hope you all had a wonderful summer holiday and made the most of the sunshine!

It is really lovely to see everyone again and all of the children have come in happy, settled and ready to begin our fabulous new topic of ‘Transport.’ This will include lots of Science, Art, Design Technology, History, Geography and Computing, but the highlight will, I am sure, be our whole school visit to the National Railway Museum on Tuesday 8th October.  More details will follow in a letter soon.

Home Tasks

It is expected that children read or share a book with an adult at home for 10 -15 minutes every evening whenever possible. This could be your child reading their school ‘scheme’ book to you, them reading something else of their choice, you sharing a bed time story together, or any other reading you can think of, or that your child wishes to do. Please record any reading you have done in your child’s reading record. We try to change books every Monday, Wednesday and Friday but we do need your signature to say the book is completed.

PE in Autumn Term

This half term our PE is swimming lessons on Friday afternoons and Gymnastics in the village hall every Wednesday. However, whilst the weather is good, we may add some outdoor games sessions, so please could you ensure that your child has an indoor and outdoor PE kit in school all week? Thank you.

Please ensure your child adheres to our  Uniform Policy (.pdf) available in the Documents section of this site. Please ensure that all clothing should be clearly named. Thank you!
