The Curriculum is carefully designed to facilitate our 6 federation objectives. A thematic approach has been adopted to engage and inspire children to love learning.
Each subject taught builds knowledge and skills progressively from Early Years to Year 6.
The thematic approach allows children to see connections between the subjects they are learning and to apply their knowledge and skills in a range of contexts.
Our curriculum uses Nidderdale (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) as a rich resource for learning and ensures pupils understand their local history and heritage.
Due to the rurality of our schools and the monocultural locality in which our children live, we endeavour to broaden horizons with a range of opportunities beyond the community as part of our curriculum offer.

Whilst the knowledge and skills progression in all subjects is the same across the Federation, the way in which the learning is structured (Long Term Plan) is different in each school. The class structure in each school is different and therefore the curriculum implementation is adapted to provide the most effective structure for the children in their own setting.
